I'd like to respond to the many previous posts on the piracy assignments. I understand that some companies handling this type of work may be less than professional. I think it is unfair to put out a blanket statement warning people to stay away from this type of investigation. I have completed one assignment for Signal Auditing. I waited until I got paid for that first assignment before doing any others due to the number of posts warning of non-payment. I can tell you from experience that Signal Auditing is a first class business and Steve has been very easy to work with. My payment was sent two weeks after my affidavits were received by his office just as promised. I now regret that I waited and did not pick up more assignments. Just my two cents worth.

As a retired NYPD Detective, I am able to use my investigative skills in detecting establishments engaged in signal piracy and conducting a complete investigation. Due to the large number of pay-per-view events now being televised, and the exclusive Piracy assignments for DirecTV, there is constant auditing work available year round, especially with March Madness and 2007 NFL Sunday Ticket.
Signal Auditing has always been professional, understanding, and most importantly have issued timely payments. As a private investigator for the past 16 years I took an assignment with Steve from Signal Auditing several months ago, doing an audit for the NFL Sunday Ticket on DirecTV. The first week was sucessesful for me and as the season went on, I was able to add more of my agents to this assignment. To date my company has done audits for the Sunday Ticket, Ultimate Fighting Championship and DirecTV. I plan on covering additional projects for Signal Auditing in the near future. I must admit I was sceptical of this type of work when I started but it has proven to be a good source of income for me and my agents. Just wanted to drop a note about our experience with the Signal Auditing Group.
At first glance, it seemed like this would be too easy. Quick money and I didn't know if they'd really pay out, but I thought I'd give it a shot.
The first night we worked, we visited over 20 spots. Nothing. Didn't get a single hit and spent several hours doing it. I started to think it was a waste of time. Its a small community here, about 100k population. Maybe it wasn't worth the trouble.
8 O'clock came on the night of the next available audit. I thought, what the hell, hopped into the car and started driving around. At least on the first night I'd learned which places NOT to check and learned where all the bar and grill and sportsbars were. I'd save some time, certainly.
Not long into it, we got our first hit. It was so easy, it was scary. Not fifteen minutes later at the very next stop, we got our second and last hit for the night. $700 for just a couple hours of work. Certainly worth my time, now.
Took another half hour of office time, transferring digital data to computer and burning to disk, labeling the disks and sending them on to the Signal Auditing folks. Would they really pay out? Time to find out.
They quoted a turnaround time on payment of approximately 14 business days, i believe.
I got the check today for the UFC69 match we successfully audited, as well as a nice t-shirt and a letter of appreciation and motivation.
If anyone has any questions about the experience, let me know. Would be glad to talk about it. Overall, I'd recommend working with them.

Originally, I was contacted by another Auditing company and decided to try to work a job with them and I quickly found that they were not very organized and were non supportive of its investigators. Deciding between a deal too good to be true and potential reality can be difficult with a new endeavor. Such was the case when I learned about the opportunity to contract with Signal Auditing, Inc. to assess potential commercial pirating cases. I recently opened an investigating agency, got my license and eagerly work to build success. I am a retired undercover drug agent from the Midwest and currently operate my own investigative agency.
